I love Plein Air . Pasadena in August 2012
Hi, everyone:
Sharing several plein air. I really had a good time doing the painting there.
I set my painting tools on the hill facing the San Gabriel mountains. This was a amazing view. I love it. |

Figure Drawings in CCH Design Studio Workshop 2012
Hello everyone,
I am sharing some of my quick figure drawings. All of these are done in short period of time in the workshop. Gesture is still the most important thing. I try to use simple strokes to bring out the body structure.

Rhythm of Energy
I believe that well understanding of human anatomy will help a lot in doing figure drawing. So, I always tell my students drawing from inside out. That means the structure of the skeleton beneath the flesh is also important before you try to depict the muscles showing on the surface. Therefore, the anatomy books should be on your hands if you want to sharp your figure drawing skill. Most of these drawings were done in short amount of time about 7 to 10 minutes. Drawing fast, I could let the lines flow and carry the rhythm of energy. That's fun!
